Natalie Portman may be one of Hollywood’s most brilliant actresses today, but she surely did not expect to go down this career in the beginning. The actress was first offered a modeling contract after a Revlon agent spotted her at a pizza parlor. However, instead of taking the modeling offer, Portman chose to use the opportunity to get an acting gig. Then, in 1994, Portman landed an enormous acting project when she was cast to play a major role in the movie Léon: The Professional.

Further success followed Portman in the years that followed. She ultimately became an established Hollywood star when she appeared as Padmé Amidala in the science fiction franchise Star Wars. Although critics weren’t too fond of the adaptation, to a degree, it helped cement her status as a star. Since then, the actress has starred in countless films and earned several prestigious recognitions, including an Academy Award.
