Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse was certainly one of Britain’s biggest stars during the 2000s. She began her career during her teenage years in the 1990s. She first rose into the spotlight thanks to her membership with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, becoming its featured female vocalist in 2000. She started her career in 2002, albeit being kept out of the limelight for years. In 2006, she became famous with her album Back to Black putting her on the map. This was when her signature aesthetic started to emerge.

Concurrent to her ever-rising fame during her career were the multitude of issues and setbacks she faced. Her problems have often made headlines in several newspapers, with many even questioning whether or not she was deserving of the praises she received. Her record sales, to a degree, overshadowed the struggles the singer was facing, until one day she passed away.
