Sofia Coppola
Sofia Coppola’s appearance in the Godfather III as Michael Corleone’s daughter may have affected her career as an actress, but it did not stop her from being recognized as a rising director. She may have been living under her father’s shadow, but her directing debut impressed even her worst critics. She followed this up with another hit, Lost in Translation, which garnered her an Oscar for original screenplay.
Before she even became a famous director, Coppola worked as a model for teen magazines. She did some commercials and later directed her first-ever stage production. The director was married twice and is now living a low profile for the sake of her two children with musician Thomas Mars. Her investments in her work have helped establish her own identity, distinct from that of her father.
