Sean Astin

Sean Astin may have a celebrity parent, but he did not bank on it while starting out as a child actor. His film debut was in The Goonies, where he took on the role of Mikey. With one success under his belt, the child star went on to more films like Toy Soldiers and Rudy. He did lead a fairly successful time as an actor from the 80s to the 90s, but it was in The Lord of the Rings that made him a household name.

Astin, together with his co-stars, spent a few years in New Zealand where they shot the trilogy. His performance as Samwise Gamgee earned him a Saturn Award for being the Best Supporting Actor. Despite that, the actor stayed grounded even with all the fame. He still worked in various TV shows like 24, Law & Order, NCIS, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. He is currently married and has three daughters to spend his investment money on.
