Gil Gerard

Gil Gerard started acting by doing more than 400 commercials at the start of the 1970s. He later transitioned to taking smaller roles in various films and later became part of the regular cast of The Doctors. Nabbing the role of Buck Rogers in the 25th Century was one of the reasons why he rose to stardom. Though the actor became a household name at the time, he wasn’t impressed with how the story was going. He was even open about supporting the idea that the show should not be renewed. He did get his wish as it was canceled later after 30 plus episodes.

Though the actor did appear in other futuristic shows, he did not receive as much as accolades as he did with Buck Rogers. He added more to his investment money by appearing in various TV shows and films but it is clear that his time as Buck Rogers was one of the highlights of his career.
