British actor Hugh Grant is hailed as one of the most popular movie stars in the 1990s. He has also continued to enjoy a flourishing career even to this day. As of late, his movies have generated over $3 billion worldwide. He is perhaps best known for his versatile performances in many films, in which he portrays either a hopeless romantic or a charming heartbreaker.

Grant earned his English literature degree from New College in Oxford, where he discovered his passion for acting. At first, he never thought of having an entertainment career. However, he started participating in the university’s drama club after performing in a Twelfth Night production and that got him hooked. Before becoming a household name, Grant tried his hand at various jobs, such as writing radio commercials, book reviews, and even tutoring. Eventually, he returned to acting and performed in many plays in England until he booked a series of movie roles.
